From the spark of an idea to the realization of a dream, the journey of SWA began with a single moment of inspiration and a fierce determination to succeed. Established in 2023, the Solid Waste Alliance (SWA) is one of its kind and the only leading non profit solid waste organization in Sierra Leone for waste professionals. Seeing and experiencing first hand the impact of poor waste management in Sierra Leone, our founders envisioned SWA to address the prevalent deep-rooted problems and challenges associated with solid material management in Sierra Leone.
